NBC is developing a sitcom to star Canadian comedian Russell Peters, Variety reports.
The show will be loosely based on the life of the 40-year-old comic, who grew up in Brampton, Ont. after his parents emigrated from India.
It's being written by Cheers scribe Rob Long.
Peters previously shot a sitcom pilot for FOX in 2007, but it didn't go to series.
