Former MuchMusic VJ Amanda Walsh continues to pursue her acting career in Hollywood, now cast in the CW dramedy pilot Danni Lowinski.
Based on the German series of the same name, Walsh plays the title character, "a scrappy hairdresser who has worked her way through law school and finally graduates only to be brushed off by law firms that aren't interested in her type."
Determined to make a go of it, she sets up her own practice in a shopping mall kiosk.
So . . . the female version of Ed?
The pilot's being shot for a possible fall 2011 debut.
Walsh previously starred in the shortlived ABC sitcom Sons & Daughters. She also appeared in the Matthew McConaughey romcom Ghosts of Girlfriends Past, and the Hilary Duff ABC Family movie Beauty & The Briefcase.
