Amanda Marshall to make comeback?

Just last week I was listening to every Amanda Marshall song on my iPod and thinking "Why did she have to go away? I love love love her."

Birmingham. Fall From Grace. Love Lift Me. Everybody's Got A Story.

Woman was a veritable hit-maker and stole my heart, before disappearing after the release of 2001's Everybody's Got A Story.

Well, yesterday a Toronto Star article answered most of my questions 'bout why Amanda just up and left my life like that.

Seems Marshall fired her management in 2002, which led to a legal battle between her label and management. The dispute still isn't settled and Marshall can't discuss it in any detail.

"Let me just say there are a lot of bands and performers whose careers are permanently derailed by spectacularly bad management," she says. "They just seem to vanish and one day you ask, ‘Hey, what happened to them?’”

Though there's still no news on a new album, Marshall's making a return to the stage, performing this Friday at Casino Rama.

Asked whether she's got a story that could break our heart, as per her 2001 single, she responds, “Sure, hasn’t everyone? It’s inevitable. If you’re breathing, if you’re living, then something or someone is going to hurt you. But I think that’s what makes you stronger and much more capable of dealing with life.”
