Returning to CBC: Doyle, Little Mosque, 18 to Life

'Republic of Doyle''s Allan Hawco, who I learned looks just fantastic in a pair of black boxer briefs.

In addition to promoting its new series, the CBC formally announced today the January returns of the following shows:

  • Sitcom 18 to Life returns for more newly-married hilarity, during its sophomore season January 3 at 8 p.m. I spoke to stars Stacey Farber and Michael Seater at the event -- look out for that interview coming up.

  • Little Mosque on the Prairie also returns January 3, though fans will also enjoy a Christmas special airing December 6 at 9 p.m.

  • Republic of Doyle returns for a sophomore season on January 5. I had never given the half-hour comedic drama about private eye Jake Doyle a chance. But the CBC's preview had star Allan Hawco looking smoking fine in nothing but a pair of black boxer briefs. I took notice, oh yes I did.

Dragon's Den, meanwhile, is set to air a special "Second Chance" episode on January 5, in which several entrepreneurs from previous seasons are given another chance to score a deal.

Series already in progress that will continue through the winter season include the Rick Mercer Report, the Nature of Things, and Heartland.
