The brilliantly talented and gorgeous Adele is matching the records of some music icons in the U.K. with the success of her sophomore album 21.
This week marks its ninth week at number one in the UK. The last album to do that was The Beatles' '1' album in late 2000/early 2001.
Meanwhile, the last female album to last that long at number one was Madonna's The Immaculate Collection, from November 1990 to January 1991.
The success of 21 has also boosted sales for Adele's debut album 19, which is at its second week at number two in the U.K.
