KStew Watch 2010 continues

Jackie and Janice Wong put on their super sleuth hats today to investigate what exactly Twilight star Kristen Stewart was doing on the fifth floor of 5445 de Gaspé in Montreal yesterday. And what they've discovered thus far is quite shocking.

Jackie's first dispatch came in at 11:14 this morning, after arriving at work:

I watched every van on the street very closely and was suspicious about one SUV with tinted windows, but it drove past our building.

There were three blond, model skinny, model tall girls in the lobby holding dark blue clipboards. One of them asked me if there was a bathroom on the ground floor, I told her I had no idea (she was English, not French). I don't know what floor they were going to because they were still changing into heels when i stepped into the elevator. Related to KStew sighting? Too early to say, but probably not.

I was excited when I stepped onto a crowded elevator because I figured at least one of these people must be going to the fifth floor, and I was RIGHT! He was a portly man in a pretty nice blue button down shirt with longish (but not inappropriately long) gray hair. He does clearly not work in the building on a regular basis, because he turned left, but then realized he was walking the wrong way, turned around and walked right when he got out of the elevator. He was carrying stacks of paper.

What does it all mean you ask? A lot. Especially when you combine it with the details Jackie and Janice Wong unveiled when they explored the fifth floor after lunch . . .

Ok, so Janice and I walked back from lunch at approximately 2:15. As we walked we planned the best way to slyly bite our lips when we got our photos next to KStew and Janice told me about how she'd been daydreaming all day about inviting KStew to our office after we met her. We do have free beer here and a staff of people who could mostly not give a shit about Twilight.

There was a black SUV with tinted windows parked outside the front of the building. I noted that we should look for a Hawaiian print shirt on the driver (see yesterday's evidence) and gasped when I saw a sliver of a bright pattern, but Janice calmed me down by pointing out it was STRIPES. she was right. Back seat was empty. We moved on.

In the lobby: the landlord of this building was standing at the front of the elevator. Janice said "I wonder if he's waiting for someone?" We got in the elevator with him and two other men and I started laughing uncontrollably when I hit the 5th floor button instead of the 7th. Embarrassing.

On the 5th floor: Nothing remarkable at first. Everything seemed dank and gross and all the doors were black, much like the 7th floor...but then we turned a corner (pause for dramatic effect) ...and saw a door like no other door we've ever seen in this building!!! It was painted pale blue (designer Janice called it teal) and had a GOLD door knocker and a number pad lock thing to get in!! It was amazing!! It was called ATELIER CIRCULAIRE and it was magical! (Janice has a photo) A quick Google search shows me that the Atelier is supposed to be closed this summer, but Janice saw a woman in a pink shirt go in while we were there! Suspicious!

We went on with our inspection, but all we found were a bunch of closed doors. The doors that were open had rows of women sitting behind sewing machines. I said "maybe KStew was here for something costume related?" but the always astute Janice Wong disagreed: "Are there any sweatshops in On The Road? She was probably here for character research." Janice refused to take any photos of the sweatshops.

Our lunch break was over by this point so we had to get back to the seventh floor. We probably should have taken the stairs since we were only two flights away, but took the elevator just in case a teen idol would be riding it. It was empty.

Story developing. Check back soon.
