MuchMusic orders drama from Degrassi creators

MuchMusic and CTV have ordered a new drama series from Epitome Pictures' Linda Schuyler and Stephen Stohn, the creators of Degrassi.

Highland Gardens is a six-episode one-hour drama that follows the ins and outs of an apartment-style motel in LA which draws aspiring Canadian hopefuls chasing their Hollywood dreams.

Wait. Is this a drama, or a reality show starring any past Degrassi star who isn't Drake, Shenae Grimes or Nina Dobrev?

Production is scheduled for summer 2011.

CTV, meanwhile, has ordered two new drama pilots: a Toronto-set medical drama called Saving Hope, and a legal drama about a stay-at-home mom turned lawyer called Stay With Me.

I didn't realize CTV was allowed to produce dramas that aren't cop shows a-la-Flashpoint.

Production on these two pilots is set for spring.
