"Getting scared has never been this fun," the ad promises, and I have high hopes that's true!
Franchise star Neve Campbell for one promises some good fun from the film. "It’s going to be very scary, very funny, Wes Craven is brilliant,” she says.
But Craven himself admitted in the press this week, he doesn't quite feel like Scream 4 is his film, especially given some of the drama that occurred on set when original writer Kevin Williamson, who wrote Scream 1 and 2, was switched out for Ehren Kruger, who wrote the inferior Scream 3.
“There was a bumpy period when things shifted over from Kevin to Ehren," he said. “I signed up to do a script by Kevin and unfortunately that didn’t go all the way through the shooting.
“In some ways it’s a Wes Craven film, and in a way it’s not entirely, because it’s not a script I have control of. It’s ultimately controlled by what the studio wants in the script. My job is much more bringing whatever experience and expertise and creativity I can.”
Hey, I'm still excited enough to see it!
