'Real Housewife' of New York Bethenny Frankel; Ben and Jessica Mulroney
I've never watched a full episode of The Real Housewives of Anything, but I sure do love when SNL and 30 Rock spoof the Bravo reality franchise.
I may soon take an interest, however, as reports say casting is underway to produce The Real Housewives of Toronto.
Without naming the city, Lark Productions, headed by former CTV programming exec Louise Clark, has confirmed it’s in the “early casting stages” for a series along the lines of the Real Housewives.
The National Post's Shinan Govani, however, has got all the gossip about who's been asked.
He says Ben Mulroney's wife Jessica is currently considering it, as is dermatologist Lisa Kellett.
He has more news, however, on those who have declined: fashionista Stacey Kimel, Suzanne Rogers (wife of the cable giant chair Edward), and columnist Karen von Hahn.
Meanwhile, he says those in casting nixed socialite Cleophee Eaton (related to the former retailer) as she might be "too classy."
And as we know by now, classiness and reality TV don't exactly mix.
I'm oddly thrilled by the possibility of this series. What do you think -- does Toronto have the right calibre of housewife to pull this off?
