After a tumultuous attempt to reboot Lilith Fair last summer, Canadian singer Sarah McLachlan says the female-centric music festival is officially over.
"Bringing the same thing back last year really didn't make any sense, in retrospect, without due diligence being done on how women have changed," she told the Globe & Mail last week.
Last year's Lilith saw weak ticket sales, which led to venue changes and artist cancellations.
"In 12 years, women have changed a lot. Their expectations have changed, the way they view the world has changed, and that was not taken into consideration, which I blame myself for," she says.
Hey, at least you had the best of intentions!
Ms. McLachlan says she hopes to continue "carrying forth the ideas from Lilith and maybe doing something new and different" in the future.
