Documentary films featuring Conan O'Brien, Chaz Bono, Carol Channing and Elmo are among highlights of Hot Docs' 2011 Special Presentations lineup, announced last week.
It's “the closest documentary gets to glitz and glamour,” Sean Farnel, director of the festival's programming, said in announcing the high-profile films.
Here's some of the program's celeb-related docs that are Toronto-bound:

Being Elmo: A Puppeteer's Journey is narrated by Whoopi Goldberg, and sneaks us behind the scenes at Sesame Street to reveal the inspirational story of Kevin Clash, shy puppeteer and creator of the friendly red Muppet.
Becoming Chaz offers a revealing look at Chaz Bono's journey through gender reassignment.
Carol Channing: Larger Than Life profiles the vivacious 90-year-old's expansive career and late-life romance with her junior high sweetheart.
The Hollywood Complex focuses on the Oakwood apartment complex, where each year child actors stay with their families during TV pilot season as they chase dreams of Hollywood stardom.
Beats, Rhymes & Life: The Travels of a Tribe Called Quest charts the band's triumphant and turbulent 20-year career as they reunite for a series of sold-out gigs. Actor Michael Rapaport's directorial debut.
