Production is underway on the 11th season of Degrassi, which will return to a daily format on MuchMusic this summer for the second year in a row.
Keeping you glued to your TV screens in between pool parties and beach days (that's what people do in the summer, right?), the season will kick off with Monday - to Friday episodes for seven weeks.
Helping move things along will be three new characters:
Joining Degrassi this season is the charming heartthrob Jake Martin (Justin Kelly), who tells it like it is and tries not to break too many hearts in the process. New student Katie Matlin (Chloe Rose) is a fresh-faced athlete who plays hard on the field but is soft when it comes to matters of the heart. Fun and energetic Imogen Moreno (Cristine Prosperi) is anything but boring, but she constantly fears her one, big secret could be exposed to the entire school.
I actually watched my first ep of Degrassi in a long while the other night. Holly J was ignoring a mystery illness, which caused her to pee herself while presenting a project to a mayoral candidate. The mayoral candidate, in turn, offered Holly J a job.
Everything I thought I knew about impressing/not grossing people out has now been thrown into question.
That Degrassi. Always pushing boundaries.
