Kings of Leon may be a huge international success, but don't expect to hear the band's music as part of your favourite television series anytime soon.
Bassist Jared Followill tells NME the band refused to license its music to Glee last season, stating he'd never seen the show but "apparently everybody loves it."
Followill also reveals the band members refused an offer to play themselves in an episode of Ugly Betty last season, as well as a request from a movie producer to use Use Somebody in an unnamed film's trailer.
"Next day, they called back and tried to put us through to the star of the movie -- I won't name names, but he's an incredibly famous actor -- to let him try and convince us to agree to do it," he says. "I was like, 'Man, don't even waste your energy'."
Whoa. It's as if he's trying to ensure the world doesn't get sick of the band's music by licensing it to whoever asks.
Imagine that!
