Watson, who's in New York doing publicity for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1, told Entertainment Weekly she's been wanting to crop her hair short for some time.
"I missed all that experimentation that most teenagers go through," she says. "I've wanted to do this since I was about 16, so as soon as I had the chance I was like, ‘Right. This is it.’”
Watson will be taking her new 'do back to Brown University for her sophomore year this fall.
