Have you guys watched the new Scream 4 trailer released earlier this week?
The preview has Neve Campbell's Sidney Prescott learning the new serial killer rules from Rory Culkin and Erik Knudsen's characters.
"The unexpected is the new cliche."
"And virgins can die now."
"To be the new version 2.0, the killer should be filming the murders."
"It's the natural next step in psycho-slasher innovation."
I'm not sure it can live up to the original, but with 11 years between Scream 3 and Scream 4, this movie sure has a whole lot of new horror film conventions to draw upon.
I also wonder how much time Neve, Courteney Cox and David Arquette will get in this new film, versus its new young stars.
Further, will their characters Sidney, Gail and Dewey live to appear in Scream 5 and 6, or are they just here to usher in a new group of protagonists?
So many questions, some of which will be answered when the film is released April 15, 2011.
