2011 Emmy snubs

Alas, no batch of Emmy nominations is ever perfect.

Courteney Cox continues to be snubbed by the Academy, despite 10 great years on Friends, and two seasons and counting as the much-funnier Jules Cobb on Cougar Town.

In fact, the Academy completely snubbed the cul-de-sac crew, even though the show and Busy Phillips are certianly also worthy of recognition.

Meanwhile, the fact that all four Modern Family men were nominated for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy means there was little room for my favourite funny guys -- those of Parks & Recreation. Nick Offerman and Adam Scott in particular should have been included in this category.

And the more I watch Dexter (just finished season four), the more impressed I become with Jennifer Carpenter's portrayal of the serial killer's sister Deb. In a perfect world, she'd be recognized by Emmy just as often as Michael C. Hall.

Finally, I was reminded via Twitter of the greatness that is Parenthood. All the performances on that show are fantastic. Sadly, none garnered a nomination.

Anyone else you would've loved to see nominated for an Emmy today?
