Now I don't pay much attention to sports, but the New York Rangers' Sean Avery seems like my kind of man.
He's got a reputation as a hot head, but he's also just plain hot. He also once interned for Vogue between NHL seasons.
And now, he's spoken out in support of gay athletes coming out.
Last week he told the Toronto Sun:
If there's a kid in Canada or wherever, who is playing and really loves the game and wants to keep playing but he's worried about coming out, I'd tell him to pick up the phone and call [NHLPA executive director] Donald Fehr and tell him to book me a [plane] ticket. I'll stand beside him in the dressing room while he tells his teammates he is gay. Maybe if Sean Avery is there, they would have less of a problem with it.
Swoon! What a man!
How fantastic for an NHL hockey player to stand up for gay rights.
There's got to be some gays in these professional sports, right? No need to hide, boys. Especially with Sean Avery around!
Just 'cause.
