Summer Fun List #19: Toronto Island

After about a month of go-go-go, I declared this past weekend to be one of rest and relaxation. And let me tell you -- it was glorious.

My only big outing was my annual day trip to Toronto Island with Holly on Saturday. The weather could not have been more perfect -- hot, but not too humid, with a breeze in the air.

After cramming like sardines onto the ferry over (I don't recall it being that busy in past years!), Holly and I found a nice shady spot at the beach.

There, we caught up, as friends do, with a delightful array of cookies, chips, and gummy peach rings. We also worked on our tans.

A Chris and Holly trip to Toronto Island would not be complete, however, without a photo shoot or two. I lounged in the grass; Holly climbed a tree. We took photos of each other doing so.

In between, we got a pretty good rhythm going with the frisbee -- meaning I can successfully check #43 off my SFL.

Like every year, Holly and I noted how Toronto Island is so great because it's so close to the city, but once you take that ferry ride across you feel like you're in a whole new world. It very easily contributed to my rest and relaxation weekend -- I easily could have fallen asleep on that beach.

Oh also, I ate the most phallic of popsicles. Photo after the cut.

$4 well spent.
