Good news for Blue Valentine!
The MPAA has overturned its NC-17 rating for the Ryan Gosling-Michelle Williams drama, after Harvey Weinstein appealed the ruling.
The movie, which follows the disintegration of a young couple's marriage, will now be rated R.
Belief was the movie initially received the NC-17 rating due to a scene in which Gosling's character performs oral sex on Williams' character.
Weinstein must have made a strong case, as the MPAA's reversal of its rating was unanimous, and no cuts were made to the movie.
Along with the change in its rating, Blue Valentine is now described as having "strong graphic sexual content" as opposed to "explicit sexual content."
The R-rating will make theatres more receptive to showing it, and allow wider audiences to enjoy it.
