In case you missed it . . .

Shaw Media announced at its upfronts this week that it has commissioned Real Housewives Vancouver to air on its Slice specialty network.

Few additional details were offered about the series, the first Canadian version of the Bravo hit.

Earlier this year rumours suggested a Toronto version was in the works, with Ben Mulroney's wife considering participation.

But alas, Slice has chosen to highlight the rich and ridiculous housewives of Canada's west coast. Do any of my Vancouver readers know anyone who fits the bill?

Additionally, Slice will showcase the best our fine nation has to offer in the premiere season of Intervention Canada. Based on the American series, the reality show follows individuals with serious addictions as they pursue recovery. It's set to premiere September 9.

With Rogers announcing production of Canada's Got Talent for CityTV earlier this week, it's increasingly clear that Canadian versions of established reality franchises is the method of choice to fill CanCon regulations.
